Vince Vicallo vs John Walters

These are two guys from Chaotic Wrestling, another New England indy fed, and apparently this was their EWA debut. Match started with a test of strength with the two going back and forth, but Walters eventually throwing Vicallo across the ring to win that. They went in to some good chain wrestling, and ended the opening the sequence in the pose of mutual respect.

But the highlights of this match weren't in the flash or crazy lucha moves, it was in the sound internal psychology. Vicallo immediately started working on the arm of Walters, and every move he did was targeted at the arm, which Walters sold well. And soon after, Walters begin working on the leg of Vicallo, hitting several different leg locks including a good roll-through kneebar sequence and of course the figure four. Both men did a great job of selling their vulnerable limbs, very enjoyable. Every move had a purpose, which is something special to see at any level of wrestling.

Another highlight of the match was Walters hitting a chokeslam in to a backbreaker. Tough looking spot. Vicallo hit a couple different versions of the Roll of the Dice/Last Rites, one of my favorite moves.

Finish came on a Gory Special Drop by Walters.
